PALO, Leyte,
Nov. 23 (PNA) -- The Philippine National Police (PNP) has encouraged the public
to download a mobile application meant for easier access to police assistance.
“Through
technology, we want to make the people aware of what they can do in eliminating
criminal activities in their area,” said police regional office spokesperson
Chief Insp. Maria Bella Rentuaya.
Using the
i-Serbis mobile application allows people to easily seek and access police
assistance, including contact numbers of the local police officials in their
areas.
Users are
also assured that their identity will be protected if they would report through
the application.
The
application will also encourage the public to support the police in its
campaign against criminality and provide immediate crime-related information to
its nearest police station.
The PNP
i-Serbis is a free mobile application that is downloadable to smart phones
through iOS and Google Playstore.
The
application features infographics, anti-drug war updates, emergency hotlines,
links to other police mobile applications, process on steps and documentary
requirements for firearms and explosives,
Highway Patrol Program, and PNP
recruitment program.
