BAYBAY CITY,
Leyte, June 21 (PNA) -- The Department of Health (DOH) central office has
approved PHP17 million funds for the construction of village health centers in
this city.
Baybay City
Mayor Carmen Cari said most of the city’s health centers in 92 villages are
temporary, which needs immediate upgrade.

upland villages in the city will get new health centers, according to Cari.
Villages with school-based health center will no longer receive the new
facility.
The DOH,
local government units and the Department of Education established some
school-based health centers in areas where villages have no available property
for construction of the health facility.
“We are
thankful for the DOH for giving us this fund to fulfill the project that will
providing assistance on the residents’ health and medical needs,” said Mayor
Cari.
