Tacloban’s Pintados Foundation kicks off search for beauty queens

TACLOBAN CITY, March 5 - The prestigious beauty pageant in Eastern Visayas has started its search for contestants this year.

The Pintados Foundation launched the Search for Miss Pintados and Miss Teen Pintados four months ahead of the actual beauty and brain contest on June as part of the annual celebration of Pintados-Kasadyaan Festival of Festivals.

The activity is one of the highlights of the Tacloban City fiesta celebration every June 30.

The Foundation has announced the qualification of participants. Candidates must be a natural born female, 13-17 years old for Miss Teen Pintados and 18-24 years old for Miss Pintados.

Interested beauty queens must be a native of Eastern Visayas or a resident of any town or city the region for at least five years, the Foundation said in a statement.

Those qualified must be 5'2 in height for Miss Teen Pintados category and 5'3 for Miss Pintados category.

“They should be of good moral character as endorsed or certified by any of the following head of the school last attended, an accredited school based organization, a civic organization, a local government unit or a head of a local church,” the organization said.

Those interested to join must be of Filipino ancestry with at least one grandparent in the direct paternal or maternal line possessing Filipino citizenship.

Submission of entries is on March 15, 2016 at Pintados Foundation office in Magsaysay Boulevard, this city or through private message to Miss Pintados and Miss Teen Pintados Faceook page. (PNA)
