Ormoc spends PHP32-M for restoration of bus, jeepney terminals

ORMOC CITY, Leyte, Dec. 11 (PNA) - The city government here has invested PHP32.19 million to bring the twin bus and jeepney terminals back to its pre-Yolanda condition and further improve this vital transportation facility.
The rehabilitation began with the restoration of the roofs for PHP6.6 million followed by the restoration of the travelers’ lounge for PHP4.2 million.
Mayor Edward C. Codilla ordered the release of PHP8.4 million for the provision of stalls to both terminals. The bus terminal is allotted PHP3.6 million for the construction of 54 stalls for trading of food products.
The jeepney terminal on the other hand is allocated with PHP4.8 million for the construction of 40 stalls for dry goods and fruits.
Now that the travelers’ lounge has been refurbished, Codilla approved the release of another PHP3 million to be sourced from the inappropriated surplus end 2014 for the purchase of equipment.
Items to be procured are closed circuit television camera system, public address system, computer sets, transportation equipments, furniture and fixtures, and office supplies and equipment (PNA)
