ORMOC CITY, Leyte, Dec. 11 -- The city police here arrested on Monday night the city’s number 10th most wanted, a suspect in the attempted killing of his stepson.
The suspect, Eusebio Grabillo, 25, laborer, claimed hurting his stepson Christopher Mutya sometime this year in Hugpa village here over unknown grudges. Grabillo tried to kill Mutya with a knife, but the latter managed to escape.
The two were neighbors in the village and both working as laborers in a mall construction in the city when an argument erupted.
Mutya is the eldest son of the suspect’s partner, a 55-year-old widow with 10 children.
Grabillo said that after the crime, he escaped to Abuera town and worked as laborer together with the victim’s mother. Police nabbed him in Tagbas village, Albuera town.
The suspect expressed intent to settle with his stepson.
The team of law enforcers, led by the city police intelligence branch head, Supt. Joie Pacito Paye Yape Jr., was armed with an arrest warrant issued by Girlie Borrel-Yu, Presiding Judge of Regional Trial Court Branch 35 in the 8th Judicial Region, Ormoc City.
Grabillo, who was charged with frustrated murder, is temporarily detained at a police station and the court recommended a bail bond of PHP200,000. (ERR/PNA)
