TACLOBAN CITY, June 16 -- Tourism enterprise,
business risk management and the Dutertenomics will be among the main topics to
be tackled when the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI)
Tacloban-Leyte, Inc. hosts the Eastern Visayas Regional Business Conference
this July.
PCCI Tacloban Leyte, Inc. Wilson Uy said this
year’s business conference aimed at encouraging the business sector in the
region to invest in sustainability and improvements among their businesses,
thereby achieve competitive growth.
“We have invited guests who are applying these
practices in their businesses and are a success in their own rights,” Uy said.
Among those to speak during the conference is Amor
Maclang, globally award winning brand architect from Geiser Maclang Consulting
Agency, who will talk on strong cooperative entrepreneurship and growing family
owned enterprise.
Meanwhile, Albay 2nd District Representative Joey
Salceda will explain on the national landscape of the “Dutertenomics”.
“Dutertenomics” is a recently coined term to
describe President Rodrigo R. Duterte’s economic policies. The term is
associated with programs and policies to achieve “the golden age of
infrastructure.”
The business conference will also endeavor to
bridge local concerns and bring this to the national level for immediate
action.
For this, local government units in the region,
particularly the local chief executives are encouraged to join the conference
in order to better understand the business system and climate in the region.
Other topics such as agriculture and fishing,
e-commerce and the digital transformation, growth level financing among
entrepreneurs and the power sector in the region will also be tackled.
The conference is expected to be attended by more
or less 300 businessmen, representatives and other stakeholders. (Ahlette C.
