flooding during rainy season caused by the rising tides thus safeguard the
lives of the people living near the area.
District Engineer Carlos Veloso said the project
was prioritized for this year amid clamor of fishermen along the area who said
their lives where at risk during bad weather producing big waves. .
Veloso likewise said that in prioritizing projects
this year, they have taken into consideration the present challenges of climate
change adaptation (CCA) and disaster risk reduction management (DRRM).
“Such projects ensure the safety of the residents
in the flood-prone areas and their livelihood when rainy season sets in,”
Veloso said.

further boosted due to improved safety through the construction of Duka slope
protection and seawall.
