ORMOC CITY, Leyte, May 15 -- A retired government
employee was charged with murder at the Biliran Provincial Prosecution Office
for killing the mayor’s aide over jealousy, a local police official confirmed
on Monday.
Kawayan, Biliran town police chief Sr. Insp. Ian

of Agrarian Reform.
The suspect voluntarily surrendered to the police
right after hitting Cipriano on the head, abdomen and chest using a caliber 45

Kawayan town early Saturday, the police chief added.
Po also said that according to the suspect, the
victim was oftentimes observed staying at a hut in front of the mayor’s house
just as his wife would leave for work, which made him believe that the victim
might have an affair with his wife.
“This suspicion prompted him to commit the crime.
The suspect was drunk when he murdered his wife’s alleged lover,” Po said in a
mobile phone interview.
The victim, who worked as town mayor’s personal
aide is a native of Culaba town, some 35 kilometers from Kawayan. The suspect
