ORMOC CITY,
Leyte, June 11 (PNA) – Vice President-elect Leni Robredo can still work on her
advocacies even without having a Cabinet position in the administration of
incoming President Rodrigo Duterte.
This was
declared by her spokesperson Goergina Hernandez who said her boss would engage
the participation of the private sector to fulfill her campaign promises.
Hernandez
cited as an example the post-Yolanda rehabilitation program of the Lopez Group
of Companies which will conclude this week. The program built 150 schoolhouses
in 11 provinces and produced over 1,000 scholars in short-term construction
courses.
Robredo and
her team were in this city Friday to inaugurate new school buildings.
This early,
Hernandez said that many private sector organizations had signified their
willingness to support Robredo’s anti-poverty programs. The private sector
could contribute more and would have a ripple effect of support from other
groups, she said.
“We will
improve and enhance the design of the projects to get the best results. So with
or without a Cabinet position, the advocacies of Vice President-elect Leni
Robredo on poverty alleviation will go on),” Hernandez said. (PNA)
