Ormoc gov’t acquires new dump trucks

ORMOC CITY, Leyte, May 18 (PNA) – The city government here has acquired five units of new dump trucks for the city engineering office (CEO).

The city government allotted PHP22,975,000 for the equipment taken from the unappropriated surplus in 2014.

Each dump truck costs PHP4.59 million with air-conditioned cockpit and 10 cubic meter volume capacity. The trucks, all brand new, are deemed very important for the improvement of the day-to-day operation and efficient implementation of projects undertaken by the CEO.

The local government also acquired a brand new service vehicle for the city jail worth PHP1.39 million. The open jeepney-type design Kia vehicle is equipped with airconditioning at the driver’s seat, five-speed manual transmission with a fabricated door at the back to hold the detainees.

It will be used to transport inmates to their court hearings. (PNA)
