Tacloban fish vendor yields Php 1-M shabu

TACLOBAN CITY, March 12 (PNA) - A Php 1 million worth of shabu was seized from a 25-year old fish vendor here in the city on Friday, according to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

In a joint buy-bust operation, PDEA and police operatives from Leyte province nabbed Vicente Quisay, single with live-in partner, a resident of Siren District.

Authorities said that the suspect sold one sachet of suspected shabu and was found in his possession 37 pieces heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu.

The drugs which weighed about 169 grams and with an estimated market value of Php 1 million, were then brought to the PDEA regional laboratory for analysis

According to PDEA, Quisay is now being charged for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165 or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs of 2002.

The suspect is temporarily detained at PDEA regional detention facility, PDEA said. (PNA)
