DPWH west Leyte office attains 98% accomplishment in 2015

ORMOC CITY, Leyte, March 21 (PNA) -– The Department of Public Works and Highways 4th Leyte engineering district (DPWH-4th LED) attained a 97.77 percent completion rate for the projects it handled on 2015.

District Engineer Lino Francisco Gonzales said that of the 59 projects it implemented last year, two are still ongoing considering these were bid out last December.

The two remaining projects are the PHP12.49 million footbridge in Naungan, here in Ormoc and PHP15 million Tabgas River flood control in neighboring Albuera town. Gonzales expects the latter to be finished by end of March which will push their accomplishment rate to 98 percent

As for the footbridge, DPWH 4th LED has finished the tower at abutment A while preparations are ongoing for the tower at abutment B. The project is considered to be of unique design being a suspension bridge with a span of 60 meters and width of 1.5 meters. It is expected to be finished by end of April or on the first week of May.
