TACLOBAN CITY, Dec. 23 (PNA) -–
Capitol employees will be having a merrier Christmas as they are set to receive
their PHP20,000 signing bonus.
The amount is being released as an
additional incentive for the holidays, as the performance enhancement incentive
(PEI) for state workers have already been released to them.

Petilla in his announcement made during the Capitol Christmas Party said, the
employees more than deserve their bonus this year for working hard in helping
the provincial government build back and recover from the devastation of the
typhoon two years ago.
Announcement of the amount of
additional cash gift has become an awaited yearly tradition during the Christmas
Party of the provincial government, which was held again at the Leyte Academic
Center Gymnasium in Palo town.
Petilla said this year’s
celebration can be totally felt as many have already brought their lives back
into normalcy.
Meanwhile, the governor also
lauded the employees in their effort in making sure the success of several
projects initiated under his administration.
Capitol employees, on the other
hand, welcomed the release of the signing bonus. Last year, the provincial
government provided extra cash gift of PHP15,000 and PHP10,000 in 2013.
Job order employees will also
receive PHP8,000 this year.
Capitol employees are also set to
enjoy a salary increase next year pursuant to the approved Salary
Standardization approved by President Benigno Aquino III.
The provincial capitol of Leyte
employs more than 2,000 workers. (PNA)
