Baybay City to gather 2,100 kids for a post-Christmas party

BAYBAY CITY, Leyte, Dec. 28 (PNA) -- The city government here will bring holiday cheers to all day care learners in this city through a post-Christmas party on Jan. 2, 2016.
Mayor Carmen L. Cari said the 2,100 children from the different day care centers in 92 villages will join the party.
Cari said children will be treated with spaghetti, burger steak, and candies. They will also be entertained by a clown. They will also get a pair of flip flops and small gifts.
The Christmas treat, according to Cari, is the local government’s ways of letting the children know the real meaning of Christmas, through giving and sharing.
“Sometimes these children do not know what Christmas is all about,” said Cari. “We just hope that our activity is not too late to let children feel the real essence of Christmas.”
The mayor explained that the kid’s party came late since the city has been very busy for the activities intended for Christmas Day and fiesta celebration on Dec. 27.
Although the local government has already launched similar gift giving activity, this will be the first time that more than 2,000 children are recipients.

The city’s plaza is expected to transform into a huge playground for children on January 2. (PNA)
